Scottish whisky exports hurt by English taxes
A report released recently states "High excise duties on spirits relative to other alcohols unavoidably discriminate against Scotland.We could find no sound economic basis for a continuation of excise discrimination against whisky, or any other spirit. Several benefits might ensue if excise discrimination against spirits were ended. Consumption of spirits could increase relative to wine. This would have a positive effect on the Scottish economy and the trading position of the UK."
Of course all this tax goes to YOU GUESSED IT, LONDON- ENGLAND........
