BSE is STILL here so the ban cant be lifted
The bottom line is BSE has not gone away. The beef and sheep industries in
Scotland and England both took inexpensive routes in feeding their stock
recycled animal products and now we are ALL paying the price.
If the English decide to lift the ban thats fine, but Scottish farmers should
not follow suit until their stock has been tested and pronounced clear of
contamination.
If The English lift the ban the Scots can still sell their meat into
England because the Act of Union SAYS THEY CAN!
This legally binding document has been largely ignored by the English for
3 centuries so now perhaps Scottish farmers can get some benefit from it.
