Scotlands giant petrochemical plant fails again
Grangemouth refinery complex, one of the largest in the world sits on the
river Forth only a few miles from Scotlands capital Edinburgh. For the third
time in less than a year the plant was shut down, and giant soot filled
flares of burning petrochemical product lit up the night sky for miles
around.
Why? Another electrical failure from the local power station.
Its sad that such a major industry has not taken steps to ensure it has a secure mechanism to deliver electricity.
