Scots to be denied fair legal representation
The Scottish Office plans to introduce flat-rate fees to pay lawyers (solicitors) for representing people in Scottish courts. Unfortunately, whilst they may save money
many people requiring legal aid will no longer be able to secure representation
because no lawyer will work for the tiny fees proposed.
This contrasts starkly with the millions of tax payers money given over to defending millionaires like Maxwell and the rich Arab owner of Harrods in London.
It seems if you're wealthy you will get help, if you cannot afford justice you
won't get any.
The president of the Law Society of Scotland said fixed fees would seriously affect access to justice.
Thanks Blair for taking such kind consideration of the people who put you and your damnable party into power.
