Scottish doctors overworked and underpaid
37% of Scottish junior doctors exceed the recommended maximum working week of 56 hours and may work 100 hour weeks.
This trial by fire has been 'traditional' in years gone by, but its widely
recognised that it serves no real purpose other than to put patients lives
at risk by exhausting the doctors.
It will continue for as long as Labour continues to support the private
business model that is the "NHS trust". Scotland MUST have its
independence and full control over its taxation.
