Doctors still toiling under labour
Junior doctors have always worked inhuman hours, leading them to make mistakes
that involve human life, and although this is sad it is also
inevitable.
Blair promised to keep their hours in check, but he has, as usual lied.
Andrew Hobart, chairman of the British medical Association junior doctors’ committee, said "The Prime Minister has misled the House. He has accused the BMA of being out of touch yet he doesn't even know that one in four junior doctors, not one in six, is working beyond the maximum agreed limits. Mr Blair clearly has no idea how hard or how long junior doctors work. He says that we are reluctant
to change. We are desperate for change. We believe that both patients and junior doctors deserve
better."
