Drugs war being lost in Scotland
A personal viewpoint
Having watched the US policy on fighting drugs fail miserably, partly because
it puts 'soft' drugs in the same realm as 'hard' drugs, Blairs attempts to curb the
problem in Scotland and England will also fail.
Consideration should be given to legalising cannabis and at the same time
introducing the death penalty for 'hard' drug pushers. All the manpower you
can put into play won't help, the DEA in the US has proved that.
The realisation that when you push these hard drugs will lead to your death may well
change things.
