Labour wants electoral funding cap
I don't know, twice in one day agreeing with ideas from Tony Blair....
Labours wants to limit the spending of ALL political parties to 1.5 million
pounds at the Scottish election. This is a marvellous idea as it will
stop party favours going to big commercial and financial sponsors
as we saw with the Malaysian affair and Thatchers government.
Here Labour actually kept its promise
However: the SNP were all but excluded from TV and radio time at the last election.
The Tories, who have NO powerbase in Scotland received as much as 7 times the
airtime as did the SNP who obtained in excess of 27% of the vote.
There is no point capping funding if there is NO level playing field to get your
parties message across.
