Blair a nationalist when it suits him
Blair is in China, 'glad handing' for business with government that brought you
'tanks in Tiananmen' and is making it clear 'British' nationalism
is fine: sit on the fence and pontificate over the European currency,
but deny the Scots their nationhood. He said "Britain simply cannot afford to be isolationist. Narrow nationalism is the course of a
country lacking in confidence. Narrow nationalism lives a lie. It pretends to offer national strength but is in reality the enemy of
real progress and it leads to weakness and not strength."
Double standards? Of course it is!
What he really meant to say was 'narrow jingoism is a lie'
