Scots air links will NOT get strengthened
Helen Liddell says she wants better links for Scotland via air. She said "Direct and affordable air links with the rest of Europe and beyond are essential if Scotland is really to take off. They can boost our competitiveness and our tourism, both inward and outward. "
She went on
"That is why I have invited the airlines, Scotland's airport owners and the Civil Aviation Authority to a summit to explore the potential for more direct flights. The government is eager for results."
YOU SAID IT THE CAA
This body, like the FAA in the USA regulate AIR TRAFFIC and controls airports
across the "UK". Even though transport is a devolved issue that is meant to be under
direct control of Scotlands pseudo parliament, air traffic is matter 'reserved to Westminster' i.e. London/England.
