Labour lying over Health spending for Scots
Using figures from "Scottish health statistics", Mr Duncan Hamilton MSP
showed investment Scotlands health sector had
plummeted from £102m in 1994-5 to £25m in 1998-9 under Nu-Labour.
He said "New Labour claim to be spending more on the health
service, but these figures show a fall of 75% in
investment in NHS equipment since the mid-1990s.
This is also reflected in a fall of over 40% in capital
spending on buildings, installations and fittings,
slumping from £145.5m in 1995 to £85.1m in 1999."
