Alex Neil SNP leader for independence?

John Swinney, the man most likely to head the SNP this Autumn has a contender for the position - Alex Neil.

Whilst John Swinney wants to sharpen up policy issues on jobs, health, pensions, fuel tax and schools, Alex Neil wants to say 'make independence the number one issue and the rest will fall into place under SNP control'.

Alex Neil has a point.

Westminster continues to interfere even in devolved issues such as education, air traffic control and transport, so why bother sharpening policy statements that will then be trashed by London anyway?
