Scots education bill toothless and banal
The new education bill being sponsored by Donald Dewar and his Liberal lap
dog does nothing to help Scottish education except level criticism and
make veiled threats against teachers.
The Scottish Secondary schools assistant general, Barbara Clark, said of the bill: "We welcome the tone and the partnership approach and we look
forward to working in collaboration with Mr Galbraith. At the same time, there is not a lot of substance in the bill and problems remain of
under-funding, the quality of learning environment, teacher workload, low morale and
burn-out."
