The government of Tony Blur is interested in offloading the millions of (mainly Labour authority controlled) public housing to private companies who'd hike rents and leave the tenants high and dry.

The SNP would liek to setup housing trusts instead, the first 'big idea' of the election campaign......

The SNP admitted this wasn't their idea, but said they would push for it to help fellow Scots: "We would like to claim public housing trusts are all our own idea, but there are parallel schemes already in existence - and that shows it works."
