MP to ask for abolition of oath to Queen

Kevin McNamara, MP for Hull North has asked that MPs should no longer have to swear any oath to the head of state (the Queen). This is quite right. The people are supposedly governed by parliaments and those bodies are elected. Any royal family is an outdated idea that only serves to function as a tourist attraction for their novelty value, poor dress sense and sexual antics.
