Professor Hazell director of the constitution unit at University college London has said the post of Scottish Secretary of State should be abolished and he is is absolutely correct.

In fact the entire 'Scottish office' should be shut down as it is NOT needed, until such time as Scotlands parliament represents a free nation, the 'Scottish executive' can deal with its London masters directly, the third party Scottish office is just a waste of money.

However, his unit also said a secretary of State for the 'Union" was a good idea.... sorry, no thanks. Keep your Union.

This site has held this view for years... and the "Scottish Office", just does as London tells it anyway, there is NOTHING Scottish about it!
