The SNP will launch a campaign today to demand that more than £50m raised annually in taxes on Scottish air passengers is ring-fenced and re-invested on transport spending in Scotland.

This is a noble idea, why should the Scots, many of whom live on Islands and have to fly for medical reasons or for business pay these London imposed taxes to subsidise the SE of England where there ARE viable travel alternatives?

Of course Blair wont allow this because it follows , why should the Scots send any tax to London..... WE SHOULD NOT. We SHOULD keep what we make for our own people. That includes all petroleum based taxes generated in Internationally recognised Scottish waters.
