In a radical overhaul document to be published this week, individual country vetos that have consistently wrecked the ability of the EU to make policy based on majority vote will be revoked.

No more Blairs and Thatchers fighting for the overvalued pound and polluted "UK" beaches, no more jingoistic flag waving nonsense stopping the majority from benefiting. The end of the veto is a marvellous step forward for the year 2000.
