Expat Scots not allowed to vote in Scottish elections
The European Convention on Human Rights is a marvelous idea and I for one am grateful it now better protects ALL Europeans from possible excesses of otherwise crazed government policies.

However, it is also being abused. Miscreant children who can no longer receive corporal punishment, can now almost certainly avoid detention after school hours by claiming its degrading.

BUT A BASIC HUMAN RIGHT IS BEING DENIED: Ex patriate Scots who are allowed to vote in Euro and Westminster elections are NOT even allowed to register to vote for Scottish parliamentary elections. Their was simply NO mechanism in the 1998 Scotland act to allow this.

So, many Scots who would like to see a stronger national parliament are denied the right to vote.
