As a product of the Scottish education system, having obtained my 'O grades' , Highers and then Certificates of Sixth Year Studies (CSYS), in the sciences and maths, I am shocked by the arrogance and blinding stupidity of the Scottish Office.

The English Universities have NEVER accepted the CSYS as being equivalent to an English (so called) A-level. That is the problem, their ignorance. The CSYS (at least in my day) was every bit as taxing as the A-level and yet London based governments and UCCA refused to accept these qualifications as being as 'good as' the English A-level.

Legislate to make the CSYS (if it even exists now!) the SAME as an A-Level to make the arrogant English universities accept the CSYS.

DO NOT TAMPER WITH OUR EDUCATION SYSTEM. IT NEEDS CASH, NOT LONDONS UNINSPIRED AND TIRESOME MEDDLING.
