Mortgage problems avoided by Mr Postman
The Scottish parliament drafted a new law to govern how people in arrears on mortgage payments
could be served notice they were in default before any reposession could happen.
The law 'unfortunately' only allowed for a postal delivery and SIGNATURE on the notice by
the person to receive the documents. So, if you don't answer the door and don't sign you can't
be evicted.
Embarasing for the Scottish executive but good for this time of year when its a season for
giving. When scrooge dies, his tenants are happy they won't be evicted......
