bank accounts of poorest to be protected?
Alex Neil (SNP), Tommy Sheridan (Scottish Socialist) and
John McAllion (Labour) the same MSPs who pushed forward the bill to abolish
warrant sales of people in debt are now trying to ensure that creditors cannot
freeze and empty debtors bank accounts so easily.
People in debt had assets seized, bank accounts stripped and this left them
hungry and often homeless and desperate, a method of credit control more akin to
the workhouse/poorhouse than civilized behaviour.
