Unelected bodies to be scrapped

Scotland has 187 QUANGOS "quasi-autonomous non-governmental organisations" which spend £6.5bn a year ($11billion). They are full of people who are often political hacks, with no training or qualification, they are generally appointed and not elected and have almost NO public accountability. Henry McLeish outdid himself (for once his poor stewardship of Scotland so far) and has asked that these bodies justify their continued existence or face the axe.

Thank goodness.
