Scottish airways empty and under utilised
The Sunday Times ran a series of letters to the editor today where
people expressed their general disgust at having to fly to and from the
USA to Scotland via London/Holland or Iceland because the DTI wants to
KEEP AIR TRAFFIC and its fees for the South of England.
Glasgow and Edinburgh can both accommodate transatlantic airliners and yet
we have to waste time and money flying via London to get to the
USA and via God knows where whenever we want to arrive in or
leave Scotland.
There is NO technical or business reason for this. Its sheer Westminster
supported bloody mindedness to make Scots remember we are just a colony
after all.
