Private school funding runs onto the rock in Scotland

Blair promised along with his serfs North of the border that private finance initiatives to help rebuild council owned homes and schools would lead to better quality of services and even more accountability.

Now it seems his lie (as with everything he says) has been exposed as a falsehood.

Amey plc signed a conditional sale contract with rival construction group Laing Investments Ltd on January 20, subject to shareholders' approval. A sub-division of Amey continues to provide facilities management services to the schools under the PPP contract.

What this means in short is that these private companies will put their bottom line before any concern for the communities in which they are building, and the public will NEVER see the often promised sell back on the cheap of these amenities to the public.
