Scotia pharmaceuticals unveils new cancer drug
Scotia holdings in Stirling, central Scotland, have unveiled a light-sensitive drug that can be used in conjunction with laser therapy, to treat cancerous tumours in the lung,
stomach and gullet.
Scotia's finance director, Michael Lawther, said the deal shows the drug has massive potential. Two international biotech companies are funding the work further: Kyowa Hakko (Japan) and Boehringer Ingleheim (Germany), investment is 54million dollars.
