Labour make Scots a laughing stock as usual
A private conversation between Mr McLeish and Helen Liddell, the Scottish secretary, was taped by a local radio station reporter. The first minister described Dr John Reid, Northern Ireland secretary, as "a patronising bastard" and Brian Wilson, the foreign office minister, as "a liability".
