Goodbye Scottish shipbuilding
After nearly 150 years of building many ships for merchant fleets,
warships and passenger craft, the Govan shipyards in Glasgow, Scotland,
are set to close. No help has been forthcoming from London and the
Scottish 'parliament' has no control over inward investment in Scotland,
the DTI has effectively vetoed the Scots shipbuilding industry into
historical oblivion.
I wonder how many of the employees voted Labour in May?
