Scottish Nationalists will push for independence
Alex Salmond, the leader of the Scottish Nationalist Party, made some interesting comments recently:
When asked if the SNP would wreck the devolved Scottish parliament, he said:
"I disagree absolutely. I think we've got the hugest interest in seeing a Scottish parliament work successfully because it's a demonstration of the importance of Scottish government over London government .
No-one has a greater political investment in the success of the Scottish body than the SNP because to succeed in our aim, which is independence, we have to persuade people that the parliament in Edinburgh is successful and is the focal point of their political hopes and aspirations."
