Flemings textiles of Kilmarnock (West Scotland) are manufacturing a new kind of rope they call spectra cord, that will be resistant to the hostile environment beyond the earths atmosphere!

NASA is investing in the project as tethers made from the material may well be the tow rope of the 21st century in space!
