Energy taxes used to help employers not environment

Blairs government has raised huge taxes on energy in the so called "UK". The newest of these taxes is meant to encourage industry to be more frugal in wasteful energy consumption and the tax raises £1bn a year.

Unfortunately, this cash is then given BACK to employers to reduce their national insurance (tax)contributions and NOT to help research into renewable energy sources.

An independent Scotland, whose main power generation is ALREADY eco-friendly would be able to construct a useful energy policy rather than a tax scam such as the one being run by London just now.
