VAT-service tax may be coming to tolls in Scotland
The Scots have argued for years that tolls on the Tay and Forth bridges should
be scrapped as motorists have paid for these bridges many times over, instead
a fee to keep the bridges mechanically sound could be charged.
However, the Skye bridge and its tolls are probably illegal as the paperwork
introducing them was NEVER signed into law.
The European Union seems set to force Scotland and England to collect
VAT (at 17%?) as a service tax for every vehicle using a tolled area.
The Scottish 'parliament' should now SCRAP ALL TOLLS to protect its
population.
The Scots will also end up paying VAT for using the M8 Glasgow-Edinburgh
motorway also..... very fair of Labour.....
