Tony Blair made it clear Labour will construct a real public debate about the benefits and possible drawbacks of a single European Currency for Scotland and England. This marks a distinct shift from his previously "wait and see" approach.

At least Labour have the guts to do this. The Tories used just fear , uncertainty and doubt over European issues to protect their warped sense of a dead Empire and a so called Union in need of repair.

A referendum after a good public debate would be most welcome!
