Health matters unimportant where profits are concerned

There are plans afoot to privatise the bodies that perform meat safety checks across the EU, in a move by the European commission that (in this case) makes them look incredibly insensitive to public opinion.

We have had people DYING of bacterial infections in all kinds of meat, we have BSE rampant across the continent and we have a pall of smoke over Scotland and England caused by burning cattle bodies.

But heh, lets be stupid and let the bank robber set the alarm standards.

Lets let the meat producers set safety and inspection terms.

This is as DUMB, dangerous and insensitive to people, putting $$$ over public health as letting the wireless industry set microwave safety limits and gun manufacturers tell us when their product is safe.
