JOB LOSSES - that greatest of all hallmarks of Londons policy strikes again. C&A, the high street brand that has clothed more people in the last near-century than the US army is closing down. Hundreds of jobs will go in Scotland.

This failing company will be joined by British Aerospace as it decides to axe more jobs in Scotland, effectively killing off the last remnant of Scots ship building.
