University students sliding into poverty

Tony Blair has admitted that an increasing number of Scottish and English students are sliding into poverty and then face more debt as they have graduate taxes to pay for years afterwards.

This is unfair because although foreign students pay through the nose for tuition, their families have never paid taxes in the so called "UK" and they will not have to pay any graduate taxes after they finish. They get a better deal in the end than home grown students. So much for widening the appeal of higher education.
